Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. When I call ProClean Solutions, will I talk to a 'real live' person? A. Yes! You will ALWAYS reach a member of our staff when you call ProClean Solutions, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We do not use an answering service.
Q. What method of cleaning does ProClean use? A. ProClean Solutions uses the hot-water extraction method, the method preferred by most carpet manufacturers.
Q. How does hot-water extraction carpet cleaning work? A. A pre-spray cleaning solution is applied to the carpet, then extracted with a truck-mounted system that heats water and forces the solution and dirt out of the carpet. The water, solution and dirt are then recovered with a powerful vacuum and deposited into a holding tank in the truck.
Q. How much does it cost to clean my carpets? A. The cost can vary with the size of the room, type of carpet, amount of soiling and several other factors. The very basic fee is $75 plus any applicable sales tax. Beyond that, the cost is charged per square foot.
Q. How often should carpets be cleaned? A. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional carpet cleaning every 12 to 18 months to stay within warranty guidelines.
Q. How long does it take for carpet to dry? A. Drying times depend on the type of carpet, time of year and humidity levels. Most cut-pile or plush carpets dry within 3 to 4 hours or less with light air movement such as ceiling fans. Loop-pile carpets, like Berber, however, take more time to dry as they are very tight woven and hold more moisture. Extra time should also be allowed if a carpet protector is applied.
Q. Do I need to move my furniture out of the room? A. No, but it does help if smaller items are relocated to another room. Our crew can move the furniture from one side of the room to the other during the cleaning process. Once one side of the room's carpet has been cleaned, the furniture is set on Styrofoam blocks to keep the furniture from 'rusting' into the freshly cleaned carpet and the remaining carpet is cleaned. When the room is completed, the furniture is replaced to its original location.
Q. Is ProClean Solutions a franchise company? A. No. ProClean Solutions is independently and locally owned and operated and is not affiliated with any national franchise.
Q. Does ProClean Solutions clean upholstery? A. Yes. ProClean Solutions can clean anything from recliners, loveseats and couches to office chairs, dining chairs and overstuffed chairs.
Q. Can anything be done about pet odors? A. Yes and no. ProClean Solutions can treat pet odors with a special pet treatment product. However, many times a carpet can become 'contaminated' with too many accidents that have seeped into the carpet padding. If this is the case, the carpet and/or padding needs to be replaced and no amount of cleaning will remedy the problem.
Q. Does it help to use scotch guard? A. Yes. Applying a carpet protector can lengthen the life of your carpets by preventing soil from adhering to your carpet by forming a protective coating to carpet fivers. Spills can be removed before absorbing into carpet fibers and most dirt and soils remain on top of carpets making them easier to vacuum.
Q. How long does a carpet protector last? A. Most carpet protectors last for up to one year. Many have a warranty that guarantees the protector for that 12-month period.
